Ricci, Vice President of EL SOL, Jupiter's Neighborhood Resource Center's Board of Directors, was Master of Ceremony along with The Honorable Mr. Jorge Herrera, the Vice-Consul of Guatemala in Miami at the Aug. 3rd graduation ceremony for the ESL Program and the Computer and Spanish Literacy programs. EL SOL offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes every day, twice on Saturday and three nights per week. The daytime class is interactive and focuses on developing conversational skills. The nighttime class is a structured, four-level program that has an extensive syllabus that teaches students written and verbal English. Established in 2006 and celebrating its third anniversary this month, EL SOL, a 501(c)3, provides an organized and supervised alternative to the daily gatherings of day laborers that previously solicited work along several Jupiter Streets. The Center is a collaborative effort of the Town of Jupiter, Corn Maya, a long-established migrant outreach agency, and Friends of EL SOL, a community volunteer group.
